I've got a copy of the Fleetwood Mac Behind The Mask CD. This has extra features of encoded CD+Graphics. The Graphics were supposed to be viewable on a TV using a CD player with Graphics capability. Is this extra information viewable on a CD-ROM drive? What is CD with Graphics? -- Peter Crighton Email To: peter@p-cright.demon.co.uk

The graphics are reminiscent of old BBS GIFs, back when 240x160 res, etc., was all the rage, and the only "animation" is palette shifting. Not worth breaking your back for. All that said and done, I still got a geekly thrill when I popped Information Society into my 3DO and realized it recognized CD+G. This was usualy abreviated to CD+G. The Amiga (or one of it's
derivatives) could see these IIRC. Not sure about PCs.

The Amiga (or one of it's : derivatives) could see these IIRC. Not sure about PCs. The Phillips CD-i and the CD-TV by Commodore could play them. Some CD-ROMS are capable of reading the graphics, but you may need something like X-ING mpeg player (which I think may play them - not too sure).. Certainly search on the WWW for a video disc player proggy or CD+G player. THat was a good CD to listen too - Sky's the Limit... Certainly there are some CD+G's floating around (rare), and video CDs too (12cm ones)/ There's only pictures an the lyrics appear, it wasnt overly brilliant, but not bad. (That was about 5/6 years ago now - must be) David, whos not got that CD anymore. -- whoami: David J Roberts ----------------------------------- HOSTNAME: | Bus Error | mail: remove hayley.girl-power! | - What happens when you drive | httpd: http://www.hayley.demon.co.uk | a bus under a low bridge... |

today, about the only players I see that have CD+G (one of the -original- formats of Philips/Sony's Compact Disc) are the ones used for Karaoke. Great idea, never made it: audio, plus still images synched. Did you try it on a CD-ROM player? I really don't think that a normal home PC would recognize the format, but not sure. There's a program I think was called Music Advisor that would tell you if your CDROM would read them or not. Brian Take out REMOVEME from address to send Email.
