Well, the last friday of the month is this coming one!
At the same time as cyclists in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth,
there will be a Critical Mass on friday afternoon leaving
King George Square at 5:15pm

The rides in Brisbane have been attracting around 80 cyclists and
have been finishing at Ned Kellys bar on Southbank for a social
session.

Critical Mass Rides involve getting a large number of people to cycle
as a group in peak hour traffic once a month. These rides started in 
San Francisco three years ago, and are now held in more than 60 cities
around the world.

The objectives of the rides include
1.. to emphasis that bicycles are a valid from of transport
2.. to educate the public on the benefits of cycle commuting
3.. to encourage others to commute by bicyle
4.. to raise public awareness of facilities required for safe cycling
5.. to meet other concerned cyclists, express solidarity and have some 
    fun

So come along and be part of Brisbane's Criitical Mass. The rides are 
held on the last Friday of each month (unless that is a public holiday, 
when they are the week before). Cyclists meet at King George Square at 
5.00 pm. At 5.15, we head off for a safe, legal and fun ride around the 
city for about 1 hour.
