Gee, couldn't you have used a BIGGER HAMMER?? (Sorry, just couldn't
resist... ;-) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Just start up MAIL, READ any and all new mail messages. When you
are _sure_ there are NO NEW MAIL messages left to read (I don't mean you
have to delete them, you just need to have read them), then type READ/NEW
and exit:

	$MAIL
	MAIL> READ
	MAIL> READ
               .
               .
               .
	MAIL> READ
	%MAIL-E-NOMOREMSG, no more messages

	MAIL> READ/NEW
	%MAIL-W-NONEWMAIL, no new messages

	MAIL> EXIT

The new mail count has now been reset to zero...

		Cheers, Ken
