Does anybody know of any products that provide a menu driven interface to VMS system management utilities. A customer requires such functionality to allow operators controlled access to the basic system management functions. I could write something myself but I do not want to re-invent the wheel. Thanks in advance. Maurice McMullin Tel: +353 1 2858444 Mentec International Ltd. Mail: maurice@mentec.ie Dun Laoghaire, Ireland.

Adaptive Software has such a product; it's called Access+. I haven't
used the product myself, but the advertising material I've got on it
makes it look pretty good.

I have several system management functions "canned" which operate under special sub-menus accessible only to our staff. WPO is sensitive to the "CAPTIVE" flag and won't let captive users out to DCL -- so perhaps you could do complete control if you can have a "superuser" on call to back up the "controlled access" operators when they get in a sticky situation. An important part of the system would be a very intellegent tape management system. We use Tapesys (from Software Partners.) DEC markets a version of the same program as SLS. Both work very well. The entire backup can be controlled by an account with only OPER priviledge. -- -- Vern Cole -- Systems Manager -- Utah Valley Community College --
