Doesnt matter if you disagree or not, the evidence shows that they arent trying to 'get out of' anything, they are just pointing out that since its still in beta, you may see some initial glitches as they ramp up capacity on that particular service. Its better in some ways to say its currently in beta than to just assume that customers will always be aware that any new service with its own infrastructure will always have glitches, specially when its always going to be impossible to predict how many will sign up for a new service from them, as their Essentials plan is. > The User asked why he was having a horrid time with the Essential > plan and was told it was because the Essential server was in beta. And that is completely accurate and when they are ALSO upgrading the infrastructure used by that service, that aint evidence of any 'as a way of getting out of', just a statement of fact, that the infrastructure is being upgraded as they allow for those who decide that the plan is for them. Ozemail did it differently, attempted to stop new regos to those plans as they observed the takeup rate and the effect on the bandwidth available. That didnt work any better, they stopped taking new regos for particular pops too late quite a bit of the time, took too long to upgrade particularly the link capacity into that pop, and plenty were howling about the result they got until the upgrade actually happened. Dingoblue for quite a while had a 1300 number you could use when the pop that was a local call away didnt have enough capacity for all those who wanted to use it. God knows what that cost them when plenty were using it. They dont have it anymore. > This proves that Tel$tra are using this > beta,as a way of getting out of complants. Crap, they just make it clear up front that its still in beta and you can decide for yourself if you want to sign up while it is. They ALSO upgrade the capacity of the infrastructure used for that plan, so it cant be just 'as a way of getting out of' anything. > Are you just playing the devil advocate with me? Just rubbing your nose in the fact that its nothing like as black and white as you claim on deliberate deception/misleading. >>> Here is a reply from a support officer. He says *unlimited*. >>> ***************************************************************** >>> Hello, >>> Thank you for your query regarding the Unlimited Plan. >>> ***************************************************************** >> Completely irrelevant, thats AFTER the user has signed up after >> having seen the careful use of the phrase 'unlimited hours' and >> the clear statement that amount that can be downloaded is limited. > I think it is relavent, because a word is being misused. Too bad. You get to like that or lump it when its just in a support email after the user has already seen the careful use of 'unlimited hours' on the web site before signing up.
