Take a beautiful natural setting - the dells of the Wisconsin River - and load it up with every tacky tourist trap known to man (minature golf, Paul Bunyan restaurant, go-cart tracks, gift shops, cheap motels, "Tommy Bartlett's Robot World" - come on!) - and you've got Wisconsin Dells. Ewww. As a Milwaukee native who's lived in Minnesota for many years, I *pass by* the Dells several times each year on trips home. About the only reason I stop in the Dells is to eat or get gas at the establishments along I-90/94. If you want to see more tasteful tourist attractions in southern Wisconsin, visit the Baraboo or Spring Green areas instead. Pat (speaking only for himself) Opinions expressed herein are my own and may not represent those of my employer.
