Here's an email I sent to FutureShop, Diamond Multimedia and 3DFX:

I purchased the above named card from your Regent Avenue store in
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on September 17th, 1999. The enclosed drivers
had problems with some games, glide and openGL applications. I tried the
reference drivers from 3DFX and had the same problems. 3DFX just
recently released updated drivers which actually caused more problems.
3DFX told me that I have to contact the manufacturer of the card, which
I did, and got this response:

"I'm unsure as to whether 3Dfx is distributing updated driver builds to
ex-third party manufacturers for driver updates, so I don't know if
updated
drivers other than reference drivers will be available.. The reference
drivers from http://www.3dfx.com/ for the Banshee chipset should work
fine,
though."

As I already stated, they don't work fine at all. Now your store will
not take responsibility for selling a non-supported piece of hardware,
IE: I can't return the card! What do you suggest I do here? I think it
totally non-customer friendly for your store manager to tell me "Too
bad, you bought the card, you deal with it". I expect SOMEONE, Future
Shop or Diamond Multimedia to take responsibility and resolve this
issue.

I have also sent this email to 3DFX tech support in hopes that they will
reply and let me know if Diamond is still going to be getting the driver
kits. As a customer I am quite disheartened with Future Shop, Diamond
Multimedia and 3DFX. All of which I thought had a great customer service
reputation.
