This appears to be an opportunity for one of those Internet service
providers, who keep talking about how much they are "giving back" to
the community, to jump in and donate the means to connect and the
service. What a great public relations coup that would be for whoever
gets there first. Then they could shut-up their detractors by pointing
to this public service when the next debate over who-is-giving-the-most
begins. With all the hype about the Internet on television these days,
it might even make the six-o'clock news and it would probably be a tax
writeoff. Then there would be all those kids who would grow up knowing
and loving their ISP.
