This is true, and it is also true that studies do show the flaws of
parenting lacking both a mother and father.

The issue here is, to me, one of a private group or entity, wanting to
maintain it's own identity. There seems to be something inherently wrong
with this to some people.  If people believe that this is wrong, it says
a lot about how this country has moved towards a collectivist (not sure
if that is a word) society. One in which individuals as private persons,
cannot choose who they want to, and don't want, to associate with.

Enganging in certain behaviour is not a choice?  Not murdering someone,
or not stealing, is a choice many people take every day. It's also a
'good' behaviour decision. no?
