Still no go, I deleted all the following: user:library:preferences:acrobat:WHAPI:CreatePDFMacColor, CreatePDFMacColor.bin, CreatePDFMacGray, CreatePDFMacGray.bin, PaperCaptureMacColor, PaperCaptureMacColor.bin, PaperCaptureMacGray, PaperCaptureMacGray.bin, SearchPDFMacColor SearchPDFMacColor.bin, SearchPDFMacGray, SearchPDFMacGray.bin, WHAppList.xml user:library:preferences:Acrobat Reader 5 Prefs.plist Mac OS X(my drive):Applications:Acrobat Reader 5.0 Mac OS X:Library:Applicatoin Support:Adobe:TypeSpt:AdobeFnt.lst and then did reinstalls (archived or unmounted any other acrobat installs) and still nothing worked. Obviously the finder registers it correctly (I even unregistered it and restarted then reinstalled so that acrobat could register itself as the application to open the files...no luck). What are the possiblities now? Something is hidden in the finder prefs we can't see. Somehow during all the system upgrades acrobat stopped being able to install correctly once it became corrupted. I know installing ebook reader was why mine got corrupted this time, but I know other things cause it. What can we do? Who's good w/ applescript on X? I would think it quite easy to make an application the just tells acrobat to open the file (the way we can open it w/ the file menu in acrobat) when someone clicks on a pdf (registering the script as the application) any ideas?
