I was forced to move our VC 3 server to another server. Before the move we syncronised all material and took a back up of our projects. The new server is installed and configurated as the old, but I have one BIG problem. The new server "can't see" the backup file so I can't restore any data. The backup file is located in a third server and I have tried to do as these advices say: <http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3bc28d78.59b705c5/0> <http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3bc28d78.59b7ad22/2> The location is the same as for the old server but I have tried both to empty the file's and place them somewhere else before copied back and to place them in the "original" place for VC and relocate VC. But it still doesn't work. I haven't found a way to uninstall the new server to start from scratch either. does anyone have any idea how to help me?

To move your Version Cue server from one host to another host, please try what I described in the following post. It worked well for me. <http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b705c5/1>

Sergei, actually I tried that and VC points at the correct folder and moved all files into that folder - but VC still can't see them. And I can't access the folder on C: any more via explorer either..

Hi Therese, I guess you copied the project backups via your local network, correct? I guess the user rights are now wrong after downloading them again from any shared volume. That's what I experienced. You need to change the rights so, that "nobody" and "admin" have read and write access. This can be done via chmod. I will ask a colleague for a hint here how to do that. .. except you know already..? Markus

Hi Markus, Yes I copied the files over the local network.. So that might be the problem.. I have never used chmod so if you can get any hints that would be helpful.. Thank you in advance. Therese

Hi Theresa, mmh, sorry, I just saw now that you posted this on the WINDOWS section, In that case my advice does not make much sense. On WIN this acts else. Are you on MAC? Can you send us the log from the server that is not recognizing the backups? it is located: WIN = program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Version CUe CS3\server\logs MAC = Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe version Cue CS3/Server/logs That would help to see what happens on your machine. THX Markus

Hi Markus, the server is running in windows environment. This morning I got aware of another bigger problem though, that I think can be the reason of all of this. But I don't know how to solve it.. We seem to have 3 servers with VC at the moment. All thinking that they own the same data. This is due to serverchanges, and the IT department don't seem to know anything about VC. Server 1 is the first server VC was installed on. This VC-server was turned off when server 2 was installed. But the entire server was never taken offline and the VC server seems to have autostarted (I'm guessing sometime in november-08). Server 2 was a server with many problem so this was replaced very soon, but everyone forgot about VC and when the server was taken offline last week I got mixed up in moving VC to server 3. Server 3 was installed last week, and that's the server that can't see the backup files. Since server 2 was working we continued to work on this server and turned the problem with server 3 over to the IT-department. This morning a NEW and bigger problem appeared. Server 1 was now trying to make me log on and save here, even if I didn't want to. So we shut this server down. Then we tried to start server 3 (to see if this made any change). Now Server 2 can't start up either, so I can't do any work on VC at all... I have checked the logfiles for all servers and it seems to me that there is some problem with the database connections. I don't know how to solve it though.. The logfiles look like this: server 1 <https://share.acrobat.com/adc/document.do?docid=c717f9b4-8f93-4afc-9ee3-68383c94eae4> server 2 <https://share.acrobat.com/adc/document.do?docid=f35ded93-5b77-47a0-968d-da28bbdb0c41> server 3 <https://share.acrobat.com/adc/document.do?docid=145c7feb-62ce-4733-bdeb-d6e45fffa22c> If someone has any idea - I will be very happy.. thank you in advance :-)
