I posted this yesterday in the Creative Suites forum not knowing there was a Postscript forum! Any experiences with HP's Postscript Level 3 Emulation for complex Postcript RIPs???? Is Xerox's true Postscript Level 3 printing safer??????? Hi, Our office is getting two new replacement Black and White (NOT color) network laser printers to replace our aging Apple LaserWriters. Will be using to print black and white laser separations of book covers created in Mac OSX using InDesign CS, Illustrator CS, Photoshop CS, Acrobat 6 Pro and Quark 6 (as well as OS 9 apps). HP uses Postscript Level 3 emulation. This worries me. Xerox Phasers use true Postscript Level 3. Any opinions on which is a better brand when outputting complex Postscript Level 3RIPS??? Company policy is to use HP. Budget is roughly $2,000. Will be maxing out on RAM to print quickly. Volume not so important and documents short. Thanks, Fairfax
