is there a such thing as a consumer inkjet printer that handles postscript? if so, is there somewhere i can go to see a listing of these printers? most of the ones i've looked at (epson, canon, etc) don't seem to mention whether they handle postscript or not. if it tunrs out that there are very few inkjets that handle postscript whats the next step? is using rip software my only option? what does the universal adobe postscript driver do? does that allow you to convert any printer into a postscript printer? thanks j

Hi j. Don't know about consumer inkjetprinters that handle PostScript. Most of the inkjet printers I'm familiar with require use of some kind of software PostScript RIP. Adobe doesn't have a universal PostScript driver. It has a universal driver installer, the same installer software is used to install different PostScript drivers for Windows 9x, NT, 2000, or XP. The drivers are different, the installer is universal. And all it does is install the driver needed for printing to an actual PostScript printer. It won't let you print PostScript to a non-PostScript device. L.

Many printer manufacturers offer a PostScript option - in software - for a few hundred dollars. Aandi Inston
