Digital Signature Verification Problem

Hi ,

I work for a Certification Authority which issues digital certificates. One of our clients has signed a PDF document using the certificate we provided. Unfortunately he can't verify the signature on the signed PDF. We checked the situation using Acrobat Reader 7.0 and 8.0. Both products give the same error messages.

When you view the certificate related to the signature using Acrobat Reader's internal certificate viewer you get the "The selected certificate path has errors: Not valid for usage" message. This message is given for the issuer certificate. Also Acrobat Reader's internal certificate viewer shows "Key usage = Not specified" for the issuer's certificate. In fact the issuer's certificate has correct key usage info which can be viewed with Windows' internal certificate viewer as "Certificate Signing, Off-line CRL Signing, CRL Signing (06 00)".

Does anybody have an idea?
