Jim, It might be relevant to know whether the PDF manual that is <not> searchable by Reader 8 <is> searchable by Acrobat 7 or Reader 7. <All> my PDF text documents are searchable by Acrobat 7 and/or Reader 7 -- but <none> of them is searchable by Reader 8. Frustrating indeed! Raphael
