Raphael,

It appears this is a document problem exclusively and not an Acrobat problem at all; I have confirmed from another source that the document that I was trying to search is simply not searchable; the good news is that the same source referred me to the software manufacturer's website where the manual is downloadable in a PDF format that IS searchable. (It would be nice if during PDF creation there was text inserted in the doc indicating its searchability.)

Many thanks.

Jim
