When they had heard the King, they went their way; and look! The Star they
had seen in the east went ahead of them, until it came to a stop above where
the young child was. On seeing the Star they rejoiced very much indeed. and
when they went into the house they saw the young child with Mary its
mother.
MATTHEW 2: 9,10,11
Matthew records that "wisemen from the east" followed what they thought
was a Star to the place of Christ. The Bible says the wisemen followed the
Star "till it came to rest over the place where the child was. Star do not
move like this nor do they move and then suddenly stop. After the wisemen
initially saw the "Star" they had to pack up, perpare for the long journey
by camel. So there is no reason to believe that Christ would still be in
the manger by the time they arrived, and they came into the house and saw
the child with Mary his mother.
This verse says they came into the "house", not stable, and saw the
"child", not baby, with Mary. One of the most spectacular aspects of the
story is the "Star". The greek word for "Star" in the gospel account can
mean "any luminous Heavenly Body".
"Are we not seeing LUMINOUS HEAVENLY BODIES today in our skies
to be continued

Give it a rest kid, you can't even prove that you are ; a) awake b) alive Both of these states cannot be proven, only "taken for granted". Let me tell you about life child, some things you're gonna have to take for granted. There, that is science for you. If you want to play hardball, play it. Having witnesses is not any proof, being killed is not proof either of life. I welcome anybody to challenge my statements (perhaps i might learn something). Think about the fact that the order to kill all male babies 2 years and younger would indicate how long it had been since the birth of Jesus until the arrival of the caravan. These men thought that if they could understand the signs in the sky to mean that some important event had occurred then the locals would see it also. That's why they went to the local leader, and that is why this leader picked a time frame from which to kill the children. The gifts left by this group provided for the support of the family while in exile in Egypt for 11 years. Keep in mind, also, that only one of the four gospels records Jesus going to Egypt - this is probably an addition made by someone so that things would match up with the Moses story better. Also, none of the historians of the time recorded a slaughtering of Jewish babies - even the one historian who really, *really* hated Herod. The star did not stop but the wise men did. So it only seemed that way. Sorry about the mistakes in my english because I am dutch.
