I use a Ring-Rite Plus along with Distinctive Dialing(tm). The later is
a method used by Southwestern Bell Telephone (and nearly everyone
else under different names) to put more than one phone number on
one physical line. So I have one phone number for my fax, one for
my data modem, and a third for standard voice, but only one line. The
extra numbers are $2/mo here and they have all the extra features
(I have "metro") you have on the primary number without extra cost.

The Ring-Rite Plus counts the rings (I forgot to mention that the
first number rings once, the second twice, and the third three times)
and routes the call to the appropriate device without answering it.
The device then decides to answer or not. I have been using this
for about a year without *any* problems.
