And I would add that in MHO extradition treaties among democratic 
countries form the basis for, if nothing else, a sense of 
"good neighbours".  I wouldn't want Canada to alow its citizenry
to be extradited to Saudi Arabia to stand trial for "offending
the dignity of a Saudi", though.  Or to Commie China...

British criminals used to flee to Spain, and live in the sun,
because Britain had no treaty with Spain.  I guess the EC 
treaties have put an end to that.
