Due to my new enviroment (within Linux - after dealing with MS-DOS for
so long) I've had some initial difficulties and would like "IF
POSSIBLE " some assistance on understanding what it is I've actually
done. (My computer has the following features: 540MB IDE HD, 16MB RAM,
2MB Trident video card, Creative SB32 Sound card + 8 speed CD-ROM
running on a Pentium 100 PCI motherboard)

1) Firstly using INFOMAGIC 5 CD Developers Kit I made my BOOT/ROOT
disks with one problem, my CD wasnt being detected.(I changed the
jumper on the CDROM to Master but still no luck - the CDROM is
connected to the sound card) So then I resorted to instalation via HD
to install A, AP, D, N, X, XAP.This all seemed to go fairly well and
after choosing the majority of applications within the various series
of disks I had loaded everything.During instalation I was asked if I
wanted to add DOS/OS2 partitions to be viewed within LINUX - and I
chose to add them to /etc/fstab. Then I was asked if I wanted to add
other DOS/OS2 partitions (I assumed I had already done this so I just
used q = to quit) DID I DO SOMETHING WRONG BY DOING THIS ?

2) I've installed LILO and everythings seems to be going fairly well.
On boot up I get an option (after pressing CTRL or ALT) which asks me
what OS I want to use - DOS or LINUX. Whilst it is booting there are
several lines of info that come up prior to arriving at the prompt. I
have noted these few lines thinking that there may be problems with
initial set up. Could someone please explain what they mean and if I
must change certain parameters ?

Lastly could someone be kind enough as to answer a silly question like
what is the command under LINUX which acts as TREE for MSDOS ?

Much obligied for any assistance.
