I am typesetting a book with Plain TeX and want to produce an index for it.
More specifically, for a group of given words, I want to know how to find
out the page numbers where the words appear WITHOUT change anything. In the
"TeXbook" by D. E. Knuth, the author explained how to use "manmac" macros
to do it. However, If I use \input manmac, many things are changed or
unaccepted. I am really very frustrated and your generous help will be
greatly appreciated.
