The Uncensored card coming up looks to be very promising, something
for everybody. From the bottom of the card to the top, this PPV
looks to be the one to beat for the entire year, including
Wrestlemania.
First off, you've got the Cruiserweight title match, which has the
newly charged Jericho vs. Dean Malenko. Then you've got the triple threat
match between Raven, DDP, and Benoit. Personally, I think Raven will get
the title, but any of the three are deserving in my view.

The US Title match has Booker T going against Eddy Guerrero, and we
will also have the Giant's revenge match against Kevin Nash. Lastly, we'll
see Scott Hall face off with Sting. For me, this match will be the one to
watch.

Sting hasn't shown much since his comeback, and it will be
interesting to see how well he's shaken off his ring rust. That isn't why
the match is a must see for me, however. Lately, I have come to admire Scott
Hall's skills in the ring; first of all, he's a hard worker, and works at
making others look good. His workrate is somewhat questionable, but he is
by no means a bad worker. Secondly, he can motivate the crowd. The fans
either love him or hate him for his charismatic persona.

Lastly, Hall has great moves in the ring, including his finisher, the
Outsider Edge. Even though Sting has had the title for only less than a
month, I will be rooting for Hall to win the title, and show that he can be
a main eventer.

(This week, Rants/Raves will be all WWF, as I didn't get to see Nitro)

Rants:
3) Kane vs. Austin: Another bait and switch tactic, I'm not too pleased
with it. It led into the best interview/speech of the year, but the match
itself never happened.

2) Truth Commission: Waste of time, these guys should all be released,
including the Jackyl. I change the channel, NO MATTER what else is on.

1) WCW's hiring of Tony Norris: I loved this guy around the time of his
first IC reign, but then he just never got any better, instead, he got
incredibly worse. Not only does he hurt himself, he hurts others around
him. We'll let WCW find out, once he hurts a truly good worker, such as
Disco or Eddy...

Raves:
3) Flash Funk is back,( but we only got to see Flash,
once again, with no push, only to job to no-talent JJ. So sad.)

2) Tyson joining DX: What a fun scene. Very surprising to me, and much
of the Internet community. Sort of comical, but Mike seemed to be
enjoying himself. Chyna and Tyson together? What a combo!

1) Kane/Undertaker: This feud has built up very smoothly. They took
their time with it, much as old feuds used to, and now everything will
have built up to Wrestlemania. Nice, even pace, highlighted by
Undertaker's awesome mike work at the end of Raw.

A couple of items have been gnawing at me of late, and I figured now
is the time to get them off my chest.

Back in the 40's and 50's, if you needed an actor to play an Indian
(or native American in these politically correct times), you didn't
hire one. You got a Caucasian actor to play the part and then painted
him up to look the part. If, by chance, you did use an Indian, he was
a side-kick and had no personality of his own (see Tonto, for
example). If you needed an oriental actor, you didn't hire one, once
again you got a Caucasian actor (Sidney Toler as Charlie Chan, or
Peter Lorre as Mr. Moto for example) and made him up.

Though this practice has pretty much ceased in Hollywood, you can
count on wrestling to continue doing stupid things like this. Need a
large wrestler to portray the stereotypical Sumo wrestler and convince
everybody he's Japanese? Why, the stupid audience won't know the
difference between a Samoan and a Japanese.

Want to have a wrestler come out as a Sultan? Can't find anybody with
the proper ancestry? Hey, use another Samoan. They have the same
coloring, don't they? Once again the audience won't be any the wiser.

Oh, and we want to use a Samoan team? Why, we'll have them come out
as wild men, barely under control! After all, isn't Samoa just some
island in the south pacific that most Americans couldn't find on a
bet? And don't most people think of Samoans as being just this side
of civilized? After all, don't they take great pleasure in beating
people up and boiling missionaries in a pot?

I wonder what Afa must have thought the entire time he was filling
this role. From what I have read, Afa is one of the nicest men to
ever grace our planet, and my own experiences with Samoans have all
been highly positive. They are, indeed, an intimidating people due to
their size, but I have never met nicer, more caring people in the
entire world.

Granted, nobody wants to put forth a wrestler as being the nicest guy
on the block. It's easier to use the intimidation factor and fear
sells well (my word, how is Ken Shamrock ever going to survive
against that monster in the ring?). However, isn't it about time we
did away with, not only the stereotypes, but the blatant
misrepresentations? If you want to present a wrestler as a Sumo
wrestler (hence Yokozuna or "Grand Champion") then I am sure you will
find many available.

No? Well then, scrap the idea!

The other thing that has been annoying me is the push that Bill
Goldberg has been getting. Somebody want to explain this one to me?
Is this some sort of bet that Bischoff is going through? Did he make
a wager that he could made a champion out of anybody and Bill Goldberg
was there?

Lord Stephen Regal evidently took offense to the push and decided to
show the world just exactly the caliber of talent Goldberg has. Zero
if I remember correctly. Regal made Goldberg look like an absolute
ass and as a result has been given his walking papers. Hey, Eric!
You fired the wrong guy!

I am sorry. I want to see people who actually know a little something
about the sport get a push. How about pushing Dean Malenko? Or Chris
Benoit? Or Eddie Guerrero? Why the Goldberg push? I just do not
understand it for one moment.

Something for Q&A maybe? Perhaps that can give me the explanation,
because frankly, I am baffled.

Question: Where are Woman, Debra, and Sherri?

Answer: All three have been given their marching orders by WCW. Debra
was asked to join Raven's flock but didn't want to. Woman was not
needed following the Benoit/Sullivan angle and Sherri was considered
dead weight. WCW released them and used the money to hire other
notable talents like Jim Neidhart, Tony Norris and Bryan Adams. I
think they would have been better off keeping the ladies.

Question: My friend said something about Shawn Michaels getting his butt
whipped around by some guy with a chain at an earlier SummerSlam. He
thinks it was Crush but I don't think so. WHO WAS IT??

Answer: Your friend is totally and utterly incorrect. The man who hit
Shawn with a chain was Hercules, and this was in the opening bout of
SummerSlam 1990 between The Rockers and Power and Glory (Hercules and
Paul Roma). P&G won after the best double team move of all time, the
PowerPlex. Shawn spent the entire match on the outside of the ring
doing nothing. Nice to see that not a great deal has changed with
him over the last 8 years.
