----------- Original message below forwarded by NETTRAIN moderator ------------ Date: Tue, 09 Feb 93 11:41:17 CST From: Nancy <HILL%CMSUVMA.BITNET@UBVM.cc.buffalo.edu> When teaching people how to use the network I use the hands on approach. I display my activity and have people work along. We have a lab with 25 pcs going into the network. The first place I always take them is into the MOREinfo BBS. It has enough information that they can always telnet back to it for help when nobody else is around. To get to it telnet MIZZOU1.MISSOURI.EDU on either the command line or the logon line (either one but not both) enter MOREINFO no password required. Then just select the item you wish to review by the number. It has library, discussion list, teaching success stories, etc. on it. This allows them to find the part of the network they are interested in using it also allows them to work at their own speed.
