I may be coming at this from a different angle than desired, but I believe
that an investigation of the marketing strategy of the Saturn Corporation
and its dealer network would be of interest.  If you haven't been to a
dealer, its worth the time.  They consciously decided to throw out the old
way of selling cars.  I don't know what they're doing with the trade-ins,
but would expect them to do something out of the ordinary.
