I finally managed to install indy 10 successfully on my BCB6 IDE. I now cannot compile any project at all? Does anyone else have the same issues? I Dont think that is meaningful to post all of the error messages. I Also tried replacing ALL the *.h (windows header) files that idwinsock2.hpp includes with the ones on the bccsdk that maybe more up-to-date but NOTHING changed :(

If you look just above that line in the hpp, you should see the _WSAMSG structure. At this point, "WSAMSG" does not exist (it is defined in mswsock.h) That line should read typedef _WSAMSG TWSAMSG; Same is likely true for the other errors.

You did not tell the exact version. Nor the exact url.

Indeed.
Hans.

My guess would be that you tried to install an old version. Gambit

The original declaration was accurate. Gambit

I have BCB6 Update 4.

Hmmm... // (DO NOT EDIT: machine generated header) 'Idwinsock2.pas' rev: 10.00 File dated 08/03/2006 5:33 PM As distributed with Turbo C++ Explorer. If that is not accurate, then perhaps we need better guidance than "I Use Indy 10" Do the newer versions show higher subversions?

I still get compilation errors :( [C++ Error] IdWinSock2.hpp(274): E2293 ) expected static const Word WINSOCK_VERSION = 0x202; [C++ Error] IdWship6.hpp(61): E2040 Declaration terminated incorrectly static const Shortint AI_PASSIVE = 0x1; the last error occurs NUMEROUS times ( at ALL the static const declarations). I Really hope you can solve this :(

When expanded by the preprocessor, it produces invalid code for the compiler. WINSOCK_VERSION is missing an EXTERNALSYM statement in IdWinsock2.pas. > [C++ Error] IdWship6.hpp(61): E2040 Declaration terminated incorrectly > static const Shortint AI_PASSIVE = 0x1; Same problem. AI_PASSIVE is already declared in ws2tcpip.h. The entire IdWship6.pas file is missing EXTERNALSYM statements. This will be fixed shortly. Gambit
