-The problem with fluorescents for me is that they buzz.  I found
-the Stanford maintenance people unhelpful about this.  "Oh, that's
-not enough buzz to bother anyone."  The underlying message is that
-saving energy is more important.  One thing that buzzed was a replacement
-for an incandescent bulb.  Does anyone know if this problem is
-now solvable?  If not, I and many others will stick with incandescents
-until it is.
 
Mine buzzed for a short time, then stopped. Only a couple of times was
it noticeable. I have had them for a couple of years, & most of them don't
buzz at all. Theo are Osram's.
