Guadalupe, >Calabasaz, etc. should have bike paths as nice as Los Gatos Creek Park. I would never, repeat NEVER consider using a bike lane on a freeway unless it were elevated a la the freeway-train proposals which have been floated around. I was riding a bike on the shoulder of the Amboy road about 30 miles out of 29 Palms last Christmas Eve when an 18-wheel truck came up from behind. As eeveryone there thought, I was lucky to survive. This wasn't a freeway, it was just the only road connecting 29 Palms with the eastern half of the Mojave desert - and I still got crunched. I'd rather not take that risk on a more dangerous road. -- And as for bike lanes along rivers - yes in developed areas, **absolutely not** in undeveloped areas where the rivers are still to some degree untouched.
