I am an independent systems consultant and a Canadian citizen. I am being given the opportunity to take a short term (2 week) contract in the U.S.. In the past, I have heard of people having trouble crossing the border to work. I have also heard, however, that the Canada-U.S. Free Trade Agreement was going to phase out barriers to professionals crossing the border on business. Has anyone been in this situation recently? I would appreciate any advice you may have on whether or not there are any problems with Canadians working for short periods in the U.S., and if so, what might be done to resolve these problems before reaching the border. Thanks in advance. Joel Brown, CCP, ISP Mooseware Limited
