Are there different versions of the line printer daemon lpd? I try to use remote printing from a VAX using the new DEC TCP/IP Software. But there seems to be a different in the lpd remote printing protocol. The DEC software writes a D-argument into the control file. But the lpd on the sparc don't understand this option and don't print the file (but sends a mail to the user). The control file includes the following lines: HVAXS.NTB.CH PASSISTENT JDECW$PRIVATE_APPS_SETUP LASSISTENT Dansi <<<<<<<<<<<<<<< unknown option fdfA012VAXS.NTB.CH NDECW$PRIVATE_APPS_SETUP.TEMPLATE UdfA012VAXS.NTB.CH In the man page of lpr this option is not included. Does somebody knows how to solve this problem. May be there is another lpd avaiable handles this option correct. Thanks for help.
