The person who started this thread *did* have some legitimate complaints about EN's service -- there were indeed big problems with the news server, for example. EN has since upgraded their equipment and feeds and the system is running extremely smoothly these days. (I've refrained from saying anything until I could reasonably say that it seems to be fixed. Well, for a good month now I've been getting pretty much every message in the newsgroups I follow, and on a timely basis ... I consider that a pretty good track record to support.) The other thing is, the guy who started this thread did indeed have a desire to trash EN. On the EN local newsgroups, he was in the habit of lying about what EN tech support tells people, for example claiming that EN was blaming the missing news on the users. He likewise had a problem with tech support staff that weren't psychic enough to predict the future, and honestly admitted that they didn't know exactly when the system would be back up again after a fix. So I intuit that a lot of his motivation for starting this thread was to slam EN, pure and simple. I am sorry to hear about your problems with EN's billing department. I know that they were rather overwhelmed there at one point, back when they were trying to grow from about a two-man operation to the setup they have now. I think they've got billing down cold these days, not that it changes your bad experiences. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Lou Duchez - ljduchez@en.com - http://www.en.com/users/ljduchez -----------------------------------------------------------------------
