1.Can I use the applets I wrote with the alpha/beta JDK with Java WorkShop? 

The alpha applets most likely won't work -- but most beta applets should. 



2.In the release notes, it indicates that JWS ships with a special version of 
the JDK meant to fix a few bugs. Should I replace my JDK 1.0.2? I.e., is this 
a patch release on top of JDK 1.0.2? The JDK in JWS is based on JDK 1.0. We 
have found several incompatibilities between JDK 1.0 and JDK 1.0.2 that make 
it impossible for JWS as is to run on JDK 1.0.2. We will be releasing a 
version of our stuff in the near future that includes JDK 1.0.2. 



3.How is the base URL of an applet determined? 



There is an optional applet attribute called codebase that gives the base URL 
for the applet. The applet's code attribute is located relative to this URL. 
If not specified, it's the URL of the document in which the applet is 
specified.
