Hey, I have a COMPUSA story also. I bought a printer, asked the salesperson if I needed a cable, he said I did and handed me a cable to buy. Turned out he gave me the wrong cable. (I hooked up the printer with another cable from a different store.) So I took the original cable back. Counter girl gave me a bitchy hard time, at first refused to take the return (and I had the original receipt) because the UPC on the package was ripped from opening the package, and would not scan. I suggested she scan a package of the same product which stood nearby, but NO she insisted she had to scan *my* package and since it wouldn't scan I could not get my money back. She then told me I was wrong for having allowed the UPC to be ripped because it must be preserved for a return and I should know never to allow the UPC to be ripped. For cryin' out loud I had the receipt. Finally a more senior manager came over and told her to just give the credit to get rid of me. -v.
