Thanks to all for the pointers.   I yanked the stuff and
printed it.   Not a bad start.  Good solid detail is pushing
it though.   I would still like some pointers to more in-
depth info.   Something in between a Sun white paper and 
a research paper.   An example is the IBM paperback book:

   RISC System/6000 Technology

This kind of material but for the Sun 2000 would be ideal.
