How can I creat a form that will allow the user to delete a specified record from a specified field in a table? I want to have a form that allows you to enter the "Order Number" and then 'click' a button that deletes that order from the "Orders" table. All records in the "Orders" table have "OrderID". If the order number entered into the box doesn't match a number in the OrderID field of the Orders table then nothing happens. Thanks in advance for your assistance Lloyd D. You need the form, with the button and the text box to hold the key value. I would use a combo-box and use a summary query to list all unique values of OrderID from the Orders table, so the user simply has to select the value, rather than key it in. Then you simply need a delete query for the Orders table. Put OrderID in the grid, and put forms![your form name]![your OrderID combo-box name] in the criteria. The button on your form simply opens the query. The button wizard will even help you set that up when you create your button, assuming your delete query already exists. -- Kipp Woodard, IS Manager kwoodard@mesahq.com MESA Solutions- http://www.mesahq.com 7800 Governor's Drive West Tower Building, 4th floor Huntsville, AL 35806 (205) 864-0400 -- Kipp Woodard, IS Manager kwoodard@mesahq.com MESA Solutions- http://www.mesahq.com 7800 Governor's Drive West Tower Building, 4th floor Huntsville, AL 35806 (205) 864-0400 Volt Information Sciences <volt1@ix.netcom.com> wrote in article <5r5mu6$8lk@sjx-ixn9.ix.netcom.com>... > How can I creat a form that will allow the user to delete a specified > record from a specified field in a table? > > I want to have a form that allows you to enter the "Order Number" and > then 'click' a button that deletes that order from the "Orders" table. > All records in the "Orders" table have "OrderID". > > If the order number entered into the box doesn't match a number in the > OrderID field of the Orders table then nothing happens. > > Thanks in advance for your assistance > > Lloyd D.
