   USB doesn't work that well with most cable modems I've seen. I
recommend you install a NIC if you can and go ethernet; it's faster and
much more reliable. The problem isn't with the modem or the service, but
with the USB drivers and the USB interface. The first time you
disconnect the USB cable while the PC is operating, your USB drivers
will hose up and you will probably have to uninstall them using the USB
uninstall program for the modem, and then reload them again. I
personally think networking with USB is a waste of time as it is too
easy to screw up.
   If you need the uninstall USB program for the SB4100, let me know and
I will e-mail it to you. Without running that program, you will never
get your USB driver for the modem to work right again once it is messed
up.
