Our biggest recruiters consider an intership as a significant advantage over other candidates. The feedback that I get from students is also great. They loved it and would do it again. On the other hand, it seems that internships are very competitive, perhaps even more than full time jobs. It is not uncommon for a company here to interview for 10 positions and only 1 or 2 internships.
