this is probably a FAQ question, but i'm asking it anyway:
we have the following setup:
1. a bunch of hp lj-iii's (various models) that are postscript capable
2. adobe's transcript package
3. sunos 4.1.1 on all workstations and servers
i have several dvips output files (without the TeX source) that
i want to print. these are easily viewable by ghostview and other
ps viewers, so i'm assuming that they're valid postscript files.
when i spool to these %&#(*ng printers, each one simply "eats" the
file, printing only the banner page. our tech guys insist that these
are "standard" installations, and that the lj-iii's use the latest
postscript standard. many suggested that i dvips these files myself,
but this is a moot point since i don't have the dvi files.
our printers *do* print all other postscript files that i have
encountered. the only exception are with these dvips postscript
output files.
has anyone else encountered such problems? does anyone have any
suggestions?
thanks in advance.
/al
