: Depends on what you call stable - ive had an uptime of 3 months on a 1.3.45

To add some more information, for them what don't know it :)

The next linux release will be 2.0. Apparently the source code for the
1.3's was 'frozen' a while ago, meaning bug-fixes only, although I'm
unsure as to whether it stayed frozen or not. Anyway, from all accounts
the 1.3.80+ kernels are reasonably stable... I've just got my grubby
little paws on a copy of the RedHat 3.0.3 Archives disk (thanks to Leonard
Chan :), and will be testing a full install of that out over the weekend,
with upgrade to 1.3.90ish, and installation of IP Masquerading (the point
of this whole little upgrade :).... If anyone has any pertinant information
for me in that regard, I'd love to hear it!

Anyway, if anyone's interested in how easy it is (or difficult) to install
the RedHat distribution, give me a yell after this weekend....:)
