VOL has no label : Abort, retry, fail?Fail on int 24 It means the computer cant't read the floppy disk. It can happen with a bad disk or drive, but as you seem to be getting it with BOTH floppies, you might have any of the following problems... 1) Ribbon cable has come loose. Check at the drives and at the controler card. 2) CMOS is corrupted. As you turn on the computer you will be asked it you want to enter a special set up program. The delete key or some variation usually gets you into it. Make sure the CMOS values accurately reflect what drives you have installed. Be careful when you change any values here, especially the hard drive configuration. (Write it down before you make any changes so you can change it back if necessary.) 3) YOur controller card has died. If the card is part of the mother board, just find out how to disable the on board controler and buy a card that plugs into an ISA expansion slot. Usually about $15 dollars. This will probably control your IDE Hard drive as well. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lars jagatai Bunch jagatai@primenet.com Read the RANT-O-RAMA WEB PAGE at http://www.primenet.com/~jagatai/ Rants, complaints, or just plain observations on life. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
