It's not. whatever termination is needed is card done for sure there, but read on.. >-- >-Rich Steiner >>>---> rsteiner@skypoint.com >>>---> Bloomington, MN > OS/2 Warp 4 + Linux + Executor = PC Hobbyist Heaven! > Feel lucky???? Update your software! He also needs to know, if he wants to do the THIN net deal with the coax, that in addition to the two 52 ohm BNC terminators, which have to be on the far ends of the cable even if there are ten computers on tee connectors over the whole lenght, there really is a minimal length requirement between boxes! My recall is that there shouldn't be anything less than 8 feet or so of cable between any two tee connectors, right? Now SOME of the network cards have a built-in terminator that can be selected one way or another with jumpers or whatever. They can, I think, be used without the external 52 ohm BNC terminators, per my recall. The setup and booklet on the NIC card should tell you that... //----------------------------- Mike.Luther@ziplog.com Mike.Luther@f3000.n117.z1.fidonet.org
