Serious - I was right p**** off when I found out, by bugging their support
department until they actually let me talk to an engineer-type person, who
of course knew the answer straight away.

I've now given up hope of ever seeing my BJ again, 'cos I sent it off to a
(so I thought) reputable engineer back last Christmas to be fixed - it
really had broken this time, wouldn't print in some colours, despite buying
it a new print head like the engineers suggested I should, cost over UKP100
and didn't make slightest bit of difference. There was a fault with the
ribbon cable, which took 3 months to replace, and then something wrong with
the alignment which needed a workshop manual to know how to fix, and guess
what Canon wouldn't supply! Haven't heard about it despite reminding the
engineers, so I guess he's using it for a paperweight or somefing.

I'm using an Epson Stylus II, which is MUCH more economical to run.

Cheers!
