Your approach to buying systems is limited to your business environment.
This is not the way the _big_ spenders play.  When I went out with sales
reps as their "technical person" (aka "talk until I kick you under the
table"), you were the type of customer they dreaded the most: requires
lots of their time and attention, very picky, libel to flame them for
the smallest thing and not likely to help them make their $12M budget
for the year.

Most of the sucessful reps dressed in "IBM" drag and curried the favor
of the VPs and big project managers at large accounts.  University
and Education are likely to be areas that wont have a sales force
since that business is always so buget concious.
