GMT Organization: home Reply-To: jeibisch@revolver.demon.co.uk Followup-To: X- Newsreader: Demon Internet Simple News v1.29 Lines: 19 I'm going to build up a 486DX2/66 PC, and my local supplier is selling QDI motherboards - 256KB cache, VL bus, 4x30 pin and 2x72 pin SIMMs. Price is UKP63 excluding value added tax of 17.5%. I'll be using this board with an Intel 486DX2/66 CPU, a CMD enhanced IDE controller, a Connor 420MB drive, and maybe a Diamond Steath 64 graphics card (haven't decided on the graphics card yet - whatever runs Doom the fastest :-) I've never heard of QDI until now. Does anyone know anything about them? If anyone does, I'd really appreciate any comments or opinions about them, including... can they be overclocked safely and reliably to 80MHz, how do they perform compared with other boards, any known problems etc. Thanks for any help! If anyone wants to comment on the other bits in this setup, feel free - I've never done this kind of thing before *bites nails* -- James Eibisch Reading, England
