How do I select a 1 GB class hard drive?

I want to add an extra hard drive to my system.

I currently have a Promise 2300+ EIDE controller and a Western Digital
Caviar 420 MB hard disk. I want to add at least 1 GB, probably a 1.2 or a
1.6 GB unit. I was thinking of adding another WD mainly because I am
satisfied with the existing WD. I also want the hard disk to have excellent
reliability.

I would appreciate advice on what HD I should buy that would be most
compatible with my existing controller and HD and whether the Western
Digital 1.2 or 1.6 GB drives are any good? What other drives in this
class would you recommend.

Finally, I would like to know which Australian vendors you would
recommend for the HD.

Thanks,

David Maddison
