I have the newest version of the Microsoft spell checker (Word 5.1) but I'm still having problems. Sometimes when I attempt to use it, I'll get the box that says "Loading Spelling Dictionaries" - and nothing else. The program's frozen. At first I thought it might be a memory problem, but it still happens if I give Word more memory. My best guess is that every time I use the spell hecker, it somehow fragments Word's memory; when I use it for the tenth time or so (which is usually when it hangs), the memory is so fragmented that Word as a friend of mine put it "demonstrates why Microsoft programming is a contradiction in terms" (please note: that's said with humorous intent. I may or may not like Microsoft, but I don't have time for a flame war right now). Anyway, does anyone have any particular insights into this problem? -- Jolyon A.
