We bought a HDI-30 SCSI cable so that we could use a CD-ROM drive with our Powerbook 520 (System 7, pre 7.5). But the computer just won't mount the CD-ROM. The drive is an Apple CD 150 with a Mac CD-ROM in it, there is a terminator block on the drive's unused SCSI socket and the Apple CD-ROM Extension is in the Extensions folder. SCSIProbe shows that the computer is seeing the drive, but it just won't mount it. When we use a Hitachi drive, the results are the same. Both of these drives have been used recently with desktops Macs, connected with standard SCSI cables, without any problems. Has anyone any ideas as to what's wrong? Thanks in advance for any help.
