Looking for funky French characters...

I am looking for a Times font version of the accented characters
of the French character set - for example, the e's with the caret
and accents above them, and the "c" with the tail.  I apologize
for my COMPLETE and TOTAL lack of proper terminology in 
describing these, and hope French users will not hate all 
Americans for it.  But anyway - are these characters available
anywhere on the standard/international 6.0.X or 7.X distributions?  They
aren't anywhere I can see with KeyCaps, and using Art Importer to 
create them is turning into a horrible mess.  Any suggestions
are extremely welcome.  email preferred, but I'll try to read these
groups for a while....  thanks.
