Works for me.  But ...

For some reason, scrolling text by grabbing the bar is much slower,
with the text getting visibly redrawn all the time.  I don't know if
the text was redrawn on 2.1, but faster, or if 2.1 had a different
(better?) strategy for hanging on to bitmaps.

Otherwise, WriteNow seems to work fine.  Can't say I've tried everything
though.
