Agreed. Unix is a piece of software, hence completely useless as a personal
computer :-)

Agreed again: For PC tasks nothing is more productive than Unix (this was
the subject of the previous statement, right? :-)

Not quite. You have to go to the folder containing the file first, by
opening all the intermediary folders, then you need a double click.
If the file is on an unmounted disk on another Mac, nobody is going to
magically mount the remote disk for you. If the file is on a Mac on a
different continent, you'll be in deep trouble, while I can access it
transparently via AFS, as if it were on my local disk.

As many mouse clicks as you need on MacOS. GUI "shells" are not something
new in the Unix world. The difference is that when something cannot be
easily achieved in the GUI, I have the command line, with its extremely
powerful capabilities, pipes, redirection et al. You have to solve the
problem with the GUI, if you can solve it at all.

With filename completion, I can reach an arbitrary file nested 5
directories deep faster than you can reach an arbitrary file nested 5
folders deep with the mouse.
