WINDOWS 3.x based document browser with hypertext facilities.

Request for Information.

A windows 3.x based program with hypertext like facilities is being sought
for use in a helpdesk/support enviroment.

Procedure manuals, reference manuals and contact directory documentation
and other similar information are being moved online.

This information is being used by customer service and support personnel
and needs to be readily accessible.

A product with a Windows Help like interface or similar is being sought
for evaluation or trial.

Current Documentation exists in Word for windows format as well as IBM DCF and
GML markup.

Ideally the document conversion process markup etc would be automated
or mouse driven or require little additional effort in terms of markup or
processing, although this is not a requirement.

The product must run on a 386 or better Windows 3.X/DOS 5.0 Standalone PC or
be able to function as a Microsoft LAN manager application.

The product must have a Windows-based GUI.

Anybody with information or an organization offering a product which
fits within these broad guidelines is encouraged to respond to

Sounds like you need a Windows Help Compiler. I think it comes with most
Windows compilers. There are alot of utilities aound that eliminate the
need for the compiler/or make it easier to develop such help files.

Most of them can read Words or WP documents. Some can do text too.
The compiled file then can be viewed by Windows help viewer (winhelp.exe)

Check out the ftp sites you are bound to find some.
